Graduate Management Admission Tests in Switzerland
The GMAT-Graduate Management Admission Test, managed and administered by the Graduate Management Admission Council is a computer-based standardized test in mathematics and the English language for measuring aptitude to succeed academically in the study of business and management. The test evaluates the verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills of the applicants.
The Graduate Management Admissions Test is a four hour test and comprises four sections: the Analytical Writing Assessment, Quantitative, Verbal, and Integrated Reasoning sections.
Analytical Writing Assessment
The Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) measures the ability to think critically and communicating your thoughts. The AWA section consists of two essays. In the first essay, the applicant need to analyze an argument and in the second essay the applicant analyzes an issue. The time allotted for writing each essay is 30 minutes and it is scored on a scale of 0 to 6. The essay is read by two readers.
The Integrated Reasoning section evaluates the ability of the applicants to assess information given in multiple formats from various different sources. This section consists of 12 questions which must be answered in 30 minutes.
The quantitative section comprises of 37 multiple choice questions and the total time allotted to answer the questions is 75 minutes. There are two types of questions: problem solving, i.e. algebra, arithmetic, basic geometry and data sufficiency. The quantitative section scoring is based on the 0 to 60 points. It assesses the applicant’s skills and ability to analyze the data and draw conclusions using reasoning skills.
The Verbal section consists of 41 multiple-choice questions that need to be answered within 75 minutes. This section comprises of questions based on the reading comprehension, sentence correction and critical reasoning and scoring is done from 0 to 60 points.
Create an account at the official GMAT site www.mba.com and schedule a GMAT exam. Once an account has been created, choose your test centre by clicking on the "find a test centre" button, and enter "Switzerland" into the search field. Then Switzerland testing locations will be shown. Rescheduling and cancelling test appointments are made through the same Web site.

Scoring and Results
An official score report, which includes all four sections scores and the total scores, is made available to the applicants online and to designated schools that the applicants has applied to, within 20 days after the test.
- Verbal and Quantitative Scores: The Verbal and Quantitative scores range from 0 to 60.
- Analytical Writing Assessment Score: The AWA score range from 0 to 6 in half point intervals. Writing scores are calculated individually from the scores for the multiple-choice sections of the test.
- Integrated Reasoning: The Integrated Reasoning score range from 1to 8.
- Total GMAT Score: Total GMAT scores range from 200 to 800.
For Special test arrangements, the applicant must take permission from Graduate Management Admission Council.
